St John's Church for Eden Park Beckenham

Hello and Welcome

We are a church that believes we have to be rooted in community.  We're a church where the Bible is central; a church that seeks to live out the bible teaching in our love and care for our community. That's why, a few years ago, we changed the emphasis in our name to "Church for Eden Park".  It's more a description of our role than our address.

Our long-term vision is for the church premises to lead into the community facilities

There is something going on here for people in the community most days of the week.  We want to build on these activites but recognise that our current halls have limitations.  We have a big project underway, Cornerstone, to develop our site into a modern centre for church and community.  We need to raise £1.6m for Phase 1.  We already have £730,000 committed by members of the church. More details, progress, and how you can support us can be found on our Cornerstone pages.  Latest News - July 2010. Planning Approval has been granted. Praise the Lord.

We are part of the Church of England in the evangelical tradition, with the Bible and biblical teaching central to our ministry.  People came together as God's church in Eden Park in 1932. Since then we have preached the Good News of Jesus and ministered to people in the community in this part of Beckenham and beyond.  Nowadays we have around 300 members and on a typical Sunday morning there will be 170 adults and 40 children.  During the week, many more than that come to our various activities.

If we are known for anything I guess it is our warm and relaxed style of worship and the warmth of our welcome.

We look forward to welcoming you.

God bless you - Nick Lang
