Sundays at 10.00am
At St John's Church Beckenham we gather each week as one big family to enjoy and encourage each other, to worship, pray and learn how to apply God’s word to our lives.
At 10.00 the church comes alive as all ages meet in the main building.
There is often a real sense of anticipation as the church family gathers for their main weekly meeting. Whilst respecting our Anglican tradition, our services are informal with a mix of worship songs led by the worship group and occasionally more traditional hymns.
The children and young people leave the main service and go to one of four different age-based groups after the first sung item. Our all-age worship services occur approximately nine times per year, creating opportunities for the whole church family from the youngest to the oldest, to worship together.
The family atmosphere is something that we value. Many visitors comment on the evident encouragement and involvement of children in the life of the church. As the service concludes, refreshments for all are served within the church.
Wednesday's at 11.15am
On a Wednesday morning at 11.15am, we meet in the side chapel for a service of Holy Communion.
This service is particularly valued by those who may not always be able to get to church on a Sunday and those who appreciate a slightly quieter service.
Afterwards, we enjoy a welcome coffee and an opportunity to share news and support one another.
What We Believe
St John's is a lively Anglican church with a relaxed and informal 'feel'; a church family who are seeking to love God with our whole lives and to share His love with others.
As Christians we believe the full purpose of our lives is to praise God. As we do so we begin to recognise more and more that everything comes from God and to feel even more thankful and full of praise. If you would like prayer please do get in touch.
Baptism, Marriage & Funeral's
St John's Church Beckenham welcomes the opportunity to be present at the significant times in peoples lives – both those of joy and those of sadness.
Alongside offering to conduct your Wedding, Baptism or Funeral Service we are also able to give ongoing pastoral care associated with these times and occasions.
We regularly run Alpha.
Alpha is for anyone who’s curious.
The talks are designed to encourage
conversation and explore the basics of
the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment.
No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.
